A student who has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) may be granted a diploma based on completion of the goals listed in the IEP and on the basis of modified content standards and modified course requirements. However, a parent signature must indicate agreement with that plan and the completion of requirements for admission to a university or for eligibility for scholarships must be considered in developing the plan for graduation from senior high school.

See the district's policy on 2008-2012 graduation requirements and 2013 and beyond requirements.

Schools will develop a six year Graduation Plan for each student beginning in seventh grade. The plan will be reviewed each year and will require a parent signature.

Textbooks and Material Selection

Jeffco Public Schools strives to select the best learning resources available for students and has developed a selection process to ensure our textbooks and educational material meet our goals. Read more.

Grading and Report Cards

For most Jeffco schools, progress reports are issued at the end of each six week grading period with a report card issued at the end of each semester. A student's grades can be reviewed on the district's online parent portal. See the policy on high school grading for details on weighted classes, class rank and grade point average.

Assessment Tests

Jeffco Public School students complete a number of assessment tests designed to provide the student and the teacher with valuable information that helps to ensure a successful education. Find out about our assessment tests.

School Accountability Systems

Colorado evaluates the performance of students, schools and school districts through the Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) results, the Colorado Growth Model and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as part of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. These accountability systems were designed to help school staff, parents, and taxpayers understand academic progress. Read more.

Library Services

Instead of having only the resources of their own school library available, Jeffco Public School students and their parents have access to all the materials within all Jeffco Public School libraries through Jeffco Library Services.
