Various student assessments are given throughout the school year. Parents should check with individual schools for their specific test dates. CSAP testing dates are governed by Colorado law, which states:
“The assessments shall be conducted during the period beginning the second Monday in March and ending on the third Monday in April of each year.” - Colorado Revised Statutes [22-7-409(1.2.a.I)].
The district's school year calendar is developed by the Calendar Committee, which is made up of parents, students, teachers, staff and community members. In May 2011, the Calendar Committee completed work on calendars for the next three school years, which include the 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years. The committee received input from parents, staff and students through a survey. Each school year calendar has a set number of teacher work days and teacher/student contact days in accordance with state law (CRS 22-32-109 (n)) and district policy. Based on these parameters as well as the data from the survey, the Calendar Committee will submit their recommendation for the district calendars to Superintendent Cindy Stevenson and the Board of Education for approval. Upon approval, the district calendars will be posted to this web page.
