Jeffco GT Share Fair!

When students explore their passions, learning isn’t a chore. This year, JEFFCO GT students have worked beyond fact acquisition to apply learning to authentic tasks. Projects presented are the culmination of identifying a passion, gathering information and analyzing research to determine what has been discovered and relating it to the real world. Please come and share your passion by participating in Jefferson County’s Annual Gifted and Talented Share Fair. Present these passion projects at:
Jefferson County’s Annual Gifted and Talented Share Fair
April 24 from 6:30-7:30
JEFFCO Education Center Room 4E (4th floor)
We hope you can join us for an evening of discovery!

See the GT Share Fair Website for more information.

Gifted Parent Academy
We are now offering four different online courses to help parents gain a deeper understanding of their gifted children and load up their tool boxes with effective strategies for greater success and well-being. Courses are open enrollment - start anytime and work at your own pace - and cost only $35 per family. See the website for course descriptions, format information, and registration.

Reclassification of GT Identification Categories/Strength Areas
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has recently updated the categories for GT Identification. Students who were identified prior to this year will remain identified as gifted and will continue with their Advanced Learning Plan status, but the identified strength/focus area may change for some students. Click here for an update of these changes.

Colorado Gifted Education Review
Jeffco recently underwent a Colorado Gifted Education Review (C-GER) where a team from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) visited various schools in our district and talked to parents, educators, and students about gifted education in our district. We received a great deal of valuable feedback from this process, and appreciate everyone who took time to provide input. You can view a copy of our C-GER report from CDE here.

Parent Seminar Dates Released!
We have some exciting guest speakers and presentations on a variety of GT topics this year, including a focus on innovation and creativity. Click here to see a list of GT parent seminars for 2017-18.
