FERPA - Opt Out Information

At the beginning of each academic year, Jeffco Public Schools publishes its Annual Notification of Rights informing parents/guardians and eligible students of their rights in securing student data under the Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) and Jeffco District policy JRA/JRC.


Opt-out Instructions for Student Directory Information & Student Photos

As defined by the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), directory information is personally identifiable information that would not generally be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed.

In accordance with FERPA, parents and guardians may opt out of having Jeffco Public Schools release their student's directory information and/or official school photos.

Opting Out of Military Recruitment Information

Parents/guardians and eligible students may opt out of having their information disclosed to military recruiters.

Instructions for parents/guardians or eligible students to opt out of disclosing information to military recruiters for students in grades 9-12 are available available on the JeffcoHelp site
