Jeffco's Financial Services Department is responsible for leading, advising and consulting with the school district, government entities, citizens, and professional organizations on financial issues that impact the school district.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides one-time federal funding to make strategic investments in our schools that will help build capacity for improving teaching and learning. In 1999, the Board of Education chose citizens from a group of applicants to serve on the District's Financial Oversight Committee (FOC). The primary function of the committee is to assist the Board of Education in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities by reviewing financial information, internal controls, ethics and assess business risk. The Capital Improvement Program, the district's roadmap for school building projects, provides details about how the district has used voter-approved funding in 2004. In 2008, voters defeated a funding proposal for the 2009-2014 Capital Improvement Program.
Jeffco Public School's Comprehensive Financial Report is required by Colorado Revised Statute 29-1-603 and provides the report of an independent auditor regarding the district's finances.

The Budget Office is responsible for preparing the District's annual budget and for tracking expenditures. They also prepare complex analysis and reports for District management including the Board of Education and Cabinet and coordinate the Budgeting for Results process. Read more.
