Mid Winter Choral Festival
Arvada, Arvada West, Pomona, Ralston Valley and Standley Lake High School choral groups will perform at the Arvada Center for Performing Arts on Monday, March 19, 7 p.m., at the 28th Annual North Area Music celebration and fundraiser.  A combined chamber orchestra from Pomona and Arvada High Schools will perform on stage at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.  Proceeds will go to the Arvada Historical Society to fund their many projects. 

Green Gables Elementary Fine Arts Night
Green Gables Elementary School is hosting its first ever "Fine Arts Night" on March 2, 6:30 – 8 p.m. Local artists will display their artwork including photography and watercolors, with a brief biography of every artist. Student work will be available for purchase. Also, local musicians Naomi Smith, Wayne Templeman, Lynelle Harding, and Sarah Richardson will perform a concert from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. The money raised will be used to benefit the school’s instrumental music and art programs.

Jeffco Public Schools’ Student Council Hosts Senior Citizen Ball
The Jeffco Public Schools Student Council is hosting its third annual senior citizen ball from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Chatfield Senior High School, 7227 South Simms Street, Littleton.

The ball, organized by student leaders from the district’s 17 high schools, is free for senior citizens 55+ years.  Live 1940’s era music will be provided by The Joe Peterson Orchestra.  The ball will also include swing dancing, games and food. 
The Student Council is a district-wide student leadership organization made up of two to three student council representatives from each high school.  The students are receiving additional support from the Chatfield Intergenerational Issues Committee.
