Jeffco Public Schools Offers Programs for Summer School 2007
Jeffco Public Schools offers a variety of summer school programs to help students with special academic needs and promote student enrichment. The district's Summer School Office is sponsoring core programs in math, language arts, science and social studies at each grade level. The Senior High School Summer Program is primarily designed for students in grades nine through 12 who need to make up credit or remediate skill deficiencies in required subject areas.
Dates: June 11 – July 20 (no classes July 4)
Times: 7:30 a.m. – noon, Monday – Friday (times may vary at individual locations)
Period 1 – 7:30-9:45 a.m., Period II – 9:50 a.m.-noon
Locations: Bear Creek High School, Evergreen Middle School, Green Mountain High School and Pomona High School
Registration: 7:30-11:30 a.m. June 7 & 8, at the summer school site. The fee is $150 per class (or half-credit), or $300 for one full credit. Students may enroll in a maximum of two ½ credit classes. An additional $100 fee applies for non-district students.
The Middle School Summer Program offers two options to seventh- and eighth-graders in Jeffco. Students may select either option, and are encouraged to discuss which option would be most beneficial for them with their school counselor.
Option I, traditional – designed for students who need to remediate academic skill deficiencies and/or make up credit in a required subject area. Students may take up to two classes and earn a maximum of one unit/credit during the six-week program.
Dates: June 11 – July 20 (No classes July 4)
Times: 7:30 a.m. – noon, Monday – Friday
Period 1 – 7:30-9:45 a.m., Period II – 9:50 a.m.-noon. Students may enroll in either or both class periods.
Location: Evergreen Middle School
Registration: 7:30-11:30 a.m. June 7 & 8, at the summer school site. Cost is $150 per half-credit, $300 per one credit course. Students may enroll in a maximum of two ½ credit classes. An additional $100 fee applies for non-district students.

Option 2: Alternative – designed for students who need to develop their study skills, improve their attitudes toward school and improve their performance in the basic skill areas.
Dates: June 6 – June 26
Times: 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., Monday – Friday
Locations: Oberon Elementary School, Ken Caryl Middle School and Creighton Middle schools
Registration: 8-11:30 a.m. June 5, at the summer school site. The cost is $150 per session. An additional $100 fee applies for non-district students.
Elementary Program. This year's K-6 program continues with a standards-based approach for meeting students' educational needs. The program focuses on student learning and student success for the content standards in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. This program is designed for students who have just completed kindergarten through sixth grades.
Dates: June 6 – June 29
Time: 8 – 11 a.m.
Locations: Slater Elementary School, Fitzmorris Elementary School and Westridge Elementary School
Registration: Early registrations will be accepted online at https://secure2.jeffco.k12.co.us:472/summerschool/SummerSchElem.cfm, by mail to: Summer School Office, Jeffco Public Schools, 1829 Denver West Dr. #27, Golden, CO 80401, or at the students' home schools. After May 25th, students may register in person, online or by mail through the Summer School Office. There is a $15 fee for late registrations. Non-district students pay an additional $100 fee.
Jeffco Public Schools also offers online summer school courses to middle and high school students through the Jeffco Extended Opportunity Program (JEOP). Students attend one face-to-face class session on June 14 or 15, and can then “attend” the remainder of the classes from their homes or anywhere they have Internet access. Students will work independently, regularly turning in assignments and contacting their teachers via phone or e-mail during the six-week session.
