July 31, 2007 Jeffco CSAP Scores Improve for 2007 In the 2007 Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) scores, Jeffco Public Schools continues to exceed the state performance in all content areas at every grade level. Jeffco also shows an improvement from its 2006 scores with gains in reading, math and science. The Colorado Department of Education released state-wide CSAP results today.
“We are very pleased with the improvement in our scores this year,” said Jeffco Public Schools Superintendent Cindy Stevenson. “We owe this increase in achievement to the hard work of our students, teachers, principals and parents.” In reading and math, Jeffco students showed strong performance in the “Advanced and Proficient” CSAP scores. Some other highlights from Jeffco CSAP results:
“While we are proud about this year’s results, we know we have some work to do. We will continue to strive for greatness and for the day that all of our students score Proficient or Advanced,” said Stevenson. “We’re hoping that our new guaranteed curriculum, which means all Jeffco students have access to the same content, will be a tool we can use to focus on improvement.” CSAP results, students scoring Advanced/Proficient by grade level and content area, are as follows:
