September 7, 2007 Nominate a student for an AWRSAY Youth AwardThe Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth (AWRSAY) program is unique in that it recognizes teens who otherwise have been missed. Yet, these teens have accomplished much more than most people. They have faced adversities and obstacles, ranging from major health issues, to drugs and crime within the family. They have not let these adversities stop them; they overcame these obstacles. AWRSAY recognizes at least 60 deserving Jeffco youth every year. Of these, 25 seniors are offered $750 scholarships to Red Rocks Community College. Throughout the year all honorees are provided leadership, recognition and educational opportunities By nominating a student you are opening the door for a well deserved recognition, but more importantly you’re showing a teen that someone cares for them. By thoughtfully and carefully sharing their story, you provide them the opportunity to be recognized in public. Among the dignitaries who annually participate in our recognition ceremony are state senators, mayors, college presidents and school superintendents. Parents and community members are encouraged to nominate a deserving youth by completing the nomination form (pdf) and then mailing or faxing it to the address below by December 14, 2007. Your caring will make a difference in the life of a very special young man or woman. AWRSAY 2007 Nominations ### For more information, call 303-914-6010.
