Jeffco Schools' Selected Book List to Be Displayed

The Jefferson County Public Schools' proposed 2007 Selected Books for Elementary School Libraries will be available for review at ten Jefferson County Public Library locations from Sept. 13, 2007 to September 27, 2007 for public inspection prior to Board of Education approval.  The libraries that will display a computer printout of this list are:

  • Arvada – 7525 W. 57th Ave. (303-403-5380)

  • Columbine - 7706 West Bowles Avenue (303-932-2690)
  • Conifer - 10441 Hwy 73 (303-982-5310)
  • Edgewater -- 5843 W. 25th Ave. (303 463-3142)
  • Evergreen - 5000 Hwy 73 - at Buffalo Park Road (303-674-0780)
  • Golden - 1019 Tenth Street (303-279-4585)
  • Lakewood - 10200 W. 20th Avenue (303-232-9507)
  • Standley Lake - 8485 Kipling (303-456-0806)
  • Wheat Ridge - 5475 West 32nd. Avenue (303-232-4417)

 

The list will also be available at the district's Information Desk, Lobby of the Educational Services Center, 1829 Denver West Drive, Building 27, Golden, CO.

The district's selected books include reference, fiction, non-fiction and professional books.  Teachers, students, library information specialists, and community members recommended the materials for review.

The selected book list is used to:

  • Order the opening day library collection for new schools.
  • Evaluate existing library collections.
  • Select learning resources to balance existing library collections.
