Bear Creek High School was closed today due to a fire in the building and students and staff were dismissed for the day. All activities for today, including athletic events, have also been canceled

Classes for tomorrow, April 23 have been canceled, but state mandated ACT tests for juniors will be held at Green Mountain High School, 13175 W. Green Mountain Drive, Lakewood. The ACT test at Green Mountain High School for Bear Creek students will begin at 7:30 a.m. Students should present identification in order to take the exam, but can be admitted with approval of Bear Creek staff monitoring the test.

Bear Creek teachers and staff who were scheduled to help with the ACT test should also report to Green Mountain High School.

Bear Creek juniors who ride the bus will be picked up at their regular time and location and transported to Green Mountain High School; however transportation after the test will not be provided. The test is expected to end at approximately 11:45 a.m.

Advanced Placement preparation classes scheduled for Wednesday have also been canceled.

No decision has been made about school on Thursday, April 24.

The Fire Department is not allowing students back in the school to retrieve belongings at this time.
