Jeffco School board member resigns

Vince Chowdhury is resigning from the Jefferson County Board of Education effective Aug. 21, 2008.  In a written statement, Chowdhury said he was stepping down to focus on personal, family issues. Chowdhury was asked to resign by his fellow board members in the wake of his arrest and guilty plea for third degree assault in July. 

The Board of Education is expected to declare a vacancy for the position at its next regular meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m.
