JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO – Over the years Jefferson County has benefited from senior citizens who unselfishly have helped build a better Jefferson County community.  This year the Good News Breakfast Coalition is “Celebrating Seniors on the Move” who demonstrate a sustained commitment to helping others. Nominations on behalf of a senior or group of seniors, who meet the criteria listed below, are due by Friday, Feb. 20, 2009.
Up to 12 seniors, or groups of seniors, will be selected and honored at the 2009 Good News Celebration Breakfast on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, from 6:59 a.m. to 8:29 a.m., at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 W. 6th Avenue, Golden, CO 80401.  To be considered, the nominee(s) must serve in Jefferson County and have had a positive impact on the community.  

In selecting nominees, The Good News Coalition will consider a senior or group of seniors meeting one or more of the following criteria:

The Good News Coalition is composed of representatives from the Jefferson County community, including non-profits, education, government, the faith community and business. The breakfast provides an opportunity for good-hearted people to display unity. It helps develop a more cohesive sense of community in Jefferson County, enhances and reaffirms spiritual values that form the foundation of the community, and recognizes “good news” happenings. Now in its eighteenth year, the breakfast draws about 500 people in celebration of the “good news” in Jefferson County.
