THIRD-GRADERS’ READING SCORES IMPROVE
The CSAP scores are in for Jeffco 3rd graders and it’s good news. Last year 77 percent of Jeffco 3rd graders scored advanced or proficient in reading; this year that number has risen to 80 percent.
Here’s how Jeffco compares to statewide results:
-Jeffco- 80% advanced and proficient
-State of Colorado- 73% advanced and proficient
“We are widening the gap with the state,” said Jeffco Superintendent Cindy Stevenson. “I am thrilled with our results and would like to thank our staff for working so hard to get this outcome for our 3rd graders.”
The CSAP (Colorado Student Assessment Program) reading test was given to Jeffco 3rd graders in February. The results of the CSAP tests in grades 4 through 10 in reading, writing, science and math will be released by the state in July.
