Jeffco students begin to organize relief for HaitiThe world is responding with relief to the people of Haiti and so too are the students and staff of Jeffco. Many students, classrooms and clubs are getting involved. Stober Elementary – The school is working on their annual talent show and has decided to use the event as a fundraiser for Haiti relief. Semper Elementary – The school is acting as a collection point for the school community and will donate to the American Red Cross-Haiti Relief Fund. The Manning School -- The school is acting as a collection point for the school community and will donate to the American Red Cross-Haiti Relief Fund. Mitchell Elementary – The school will collect donations as part of the Day of Giving Back event on Monday, Jan. 18. The Day of Giving Back is a national program where students and parents do activities centered on giving back to the community to commemorate the Martin Luther King holiday. Summit Ridge Middle School – The school has placed collection jars in the office and lunch room for donations that will go to the Red Cross International Disaster Relief fund. Falcon Bluffs Middle School – The school will have a couple of fundraisers, a Blizzard sale and a school dance with the donations going to the Red Cross. Oberon Middle School – Students are organizing a hat day to raise money for Haiti relief. Students pay $1 to wear a hat of their choice to school for the day.
