ACTIVE DUTY SOLDIER SALUTES GOLDEN HIGH SCHOOL
Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Brian Conroy serves in the U.S. Navy, but he also serves Jeffco Public Schools, as an assistant principal at Golden High.

Conroy recently nominated principal Mike Murphy and Superintendent Cindy Stevenson for Patriot Awards.

The organization, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves, presents the award to employers who supports soldiers, sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who also have civilian jobs.

“I nominated them for their continued support during these periods of short notice orders from the Navy for me to support sailors deploying overseas,” said Conroy.  “It is my job to teach sailors tactical combat casualty care, how to treat injured personnel and civilians while the fighting is taking place and directly afterwards.”

Conroy, dressed in Navy blues, will personally present the award.  “I have had to leave Golden High School several times to support Navy operations,” added Conroy.  “It’s nice to know that I have not only the support of Jeffco Public Schools, but the complete support from Mr. Murphy and the staff at Golden High School.”
