JEFFCO SHOWS CONSIDERABLE GAINS IN CSAP RESULTS

The 2010-11 Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) achievement results show the district is outperforming the state in all grade levels and content areas (reading, writing, math and science).  Jeffco scores show the district is:

  • Up in 17 assessments
  • Down in seven assessments
  • Stable in three assessments

Jeffco 2010-11 CSAP points of pride:

  • Science scores improved for all grade levels tested
  • Math scores increased for six out of eight assessments
  • Writing scores increased for five out of eight assessments

The state also measures district and student growth through the Colorado Growth Model.  It provides a common understanding of how individual students and groups of students progress from year-to-year toward meeting or exceeding state standards.  For the 2010-11 CSAP growth results, the overall district’s median growth percentiles exceeded the state’s typical growth performance in reading and math, while meeting it in writing.

“We are thrilled with the remarkable results which show our teachers and leaders are making a difference for student achievement.  Everyone in the organization has worked tirelessly to put the emphasis on the classroom where teaching and learning are the highest priorities,” said Jeffco Superintendent Dr. Cindy Stevenson.
