JEFFCO SCHOOLS RECEIVE FINANCIAL ACCOLADES
Jeffco Schools is proud to receive the Association of School Business Officials International’s (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award, along with recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The ASBO recognized Jeffco Schools for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2011.  The Certificate of Excellence (COE) award confirms the district’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency.  Recognition through the COE program helps strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements and promotes a high level of financial reporting.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the GFOA recognizes Jeffco’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).  The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

An impartial panel judges the CAFR on meeting the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.
