Jeffco Students Write Their Way to the DNC
Students from across the state were encouraged to “Write to Lead," a unique way for Colorado youth to express their thoughts on leadership, and to engage in the 2008 Democratic National Convention experience.
Colorado students in grades 6-11 were asked to submit original essays about what qualities make a great leader, how one exhibits those traits in everyday life or look to the future of the country and what qualities a leader needs to take our country forward. Fifty-four middle and high school students, including six Jeffco students, were chosen as ambassadors to state delegations from across the country. Congratulations to Red Rocks Elementary students Clara Benioff, Conner Lamden and Lauren Wood, The Manning School students, Marc Sallinger and Louisa Kennedy and Matthew Peterson, Lakewood High School.
