Summer Construction Projects

Summer time gives Jeffco students a break from the classroom, but our facilities department uses that down time to complete much needed construction projects at schools.  Over 100 sites will bustle with capital renewal projects like roofing, HVAC controls and fire alarm systems, paving and concrete work, playgrounds, and more.

The money to fund these construction projects comes from the district’s capital reserve fund that is approved on an annual basis by members of the Jefferson County Board of Education.  These summer projects have a direct impact on maintaining and extending the life of the schools and reducing energy costs.

In times of diminished capital budgets, it is increasingly important to complete projects to avoid added costs if schools and other buildings begin to show unexpected signs of failure during the school year.
