Three enrollment options available for students
Unlike other online schools that only offer full-time enrollment, Jeffco's 21st Century Virtual Academy provides multiple enrollment options to fit any student's needs. In addition to full-time enrollment, we also offer part-time enrollment for students who wish to continue some classes at their regular Jeffco or private school, and credit recovery courses for adult learners or students who only need a few credits to graduate. Highly qualified teachers with low student-to-teacher ratios
Some online schools with high student-to-teacher ratios only provide marginal academic support. Jeffco's 21st Century Virtual Academy provides strong direct teacher support to our students. Students receive personalized attention from their licensed and highly qualified teacher through phone calls, e-mail, text messaging, and class discussions. The Virtual Academy also support students through advisors, counselors, and instructional technology specialists, helping all our students achieve their educational goals.
Integrating Web 2.0 tools to meet 21st Century skills
Shy away from online schools that simply provide their students with an online textbook to read. Our online courses provide high levels of interaction between students and teachers, and allow students to take classes any time of the day. Our courses include live classroom sessions, where students can communicate and collaborate through interactive white boards, instant messaging, desktop and application sharing, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Parents can access and review their student's academic progress and attendance through our online parent portal.
Fully district supported and hosted online program
The Virtual Academy is proud to be part of Jeffco Public Schools, Colorado's largest school district, which has been educating students for more than 60 years. Jeffco Public Schools is accredited by the Colorado Department of Education and all Virtual Academy curriculum is aligned with state standards. Because we are part of the Jeffco Public School District, the Virtual Academy is able to offer tuition-free enrollment to middle school and high school aged Colorado residents.
Warren Tech and Post-Secondary options
Many online schools limit students to only their online courses. Virtual Academy students can also attend Warren Tech, Jeffco's career and technical education center. Jeffco Public Schools has a long tradition of collaborating with higher education institutions around the state to provide advanced learning options for students.
