Credit Recovery

Jeffco's 21st Century Virtual Academy offers credit recovery classes for high school students. Credit Recovery Classes are designed to meet graduation requirements, and are ideal for students who are working towards a high school diploma. The courses available for credit recovery are only the core course graduation requirements within English, math, science, and history courses.

Credit Recovery classes are designed for students who were not successful in class the first time around. Students receive credit based on mastery of class subjects. Students participate in an initial assessment to determine their understanding of a subject. Based on the assessment, the teacher will assign only the parts of the course that the student still needs to complete.  Credit recovery classes begin five times throughout the year:

Cost

The fee for students enrolled in a neighborhood (non-charter) Jeffco School is $150 per 0.5 credits. The fee for all other students is $200 per 0.5 credits, plus a one time $25 enrollment processing fee.

Enrollment includes full payment of the course fee(s) by the day before the start date.  Payment can be accepted in the following forms:

PaySchools:
Fees may also be paid through PaySchools using Visa, MasterCard, Discover and EFT (e-check).  Fees for multiple students can be paid in a single transaction.  To pay fees online you will need your student’s ID and student’s last name.  There is a $2.00 fee.

Students taking credit recovery courses are required to pay for their course(s) in full the day before the session start dates in order to participate in the credit recovery program.

*Failure to pay for the credit recovery courses in full by the day before the term start date will result in the student being dropped from the course.

Because every student is unique, the Virtual Academy will work closely with you to answer questions about our program and to facilitate enrollment. A staff member will contact you after completion of the online form, and submission of all documentation.
