Credit Recovery

Jefferson County Public Schools has a variety of options for students who are in need of recovering graduation credit.

Neighborhood High School Credit Recovery

Many of our high schools have credit recovery options for their students. Some options available are computer-based curriculum, night school, and a variety of other interventions. Please see your neighborhood high school counselor for more information.

Green Mountain Night School

Green Mountain Night School offers opportunities for students to acquire credit through evening classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15 - 7:45 p.m.. Core classes as well as several general electives are available for Jeffco students.

Eligibility and Enrollment Process:

  • Students in grades 9 to 12
  • Classes are offered in Fall and Spring for approximately 3 months
  • Must attend registration
  • Classes cost $150 per half credit

Senior High Summer School Program

The Senior High Summer School Program is primarily designed for students who need to make up credit or remediate skill deficiencies in required subject areas. The senior high school program is open to district students who are currently in grades nine through twelve. Non-district students pay additional fee.

Eligibility and Enrollment Process:

  • Students in grades 9 to 12
  • Classes are typically offered for 6 weeks over the summer
  • Four convenient summer school centers
  • Core courses and some electives offered
  • Classes cost $150 per half credit

JeffCo Extended Opportunity Program (JEOP)

The Jeffco Extended Opportunity Program (JEOP) provides students with an opportunity to earn additional credits or recover required graduation credits for high school level courses. JEOP courses are designed to meet Jeffco Schools' standards and are intended to provide a quality learning experience via a non-traditional delivery of curriculum.

Eligibility:

  • Any high school student grades 9 to 12

Entry Process:

  • Contact your neighborhood high school counselor to determine which courses are needed and if the school will accept the credit
  • Contact JEOP and fill out the registration form
  • $200 for each course

Special Features:

  • Students may enroll at any time
  • Students can work at own pace but coursework must be complete in 100 days

The Jeffco Extended Opportunity Program is located on the Jeffco Schools Lifelong Learning Campus near Red Rocks Community College.
