Early Access

To meet the needs of highly advanced children who have not yet entered kindergarten or first grade, Jeffco Public Schools may grant early entrance to school. This process is not for typical children who miss the October 1 Kindergarten entrance date. Jeffco Board of Education Policy - IHBB.

Checklist for completing Early Access Admission Requirements

Online submission of Early Access application, due March 16, 2012: Early Access Application  Call Child Find Office at 303-982-7247 to complete the intake form over the phone.
Receive Early Access Packet from Gifted and Talented – Generated from Application.
Developmental History form will be sent to you by the Child Find Office – Form is due By Friday, March 16, 2012 by 4 p.m. to:

Early Access Packet/Portfolio due by Friday, March 23, 2012 no later than noon. Return Early Access Completed Packet and Portfolio to:

Early Access Packet/Portfolio Requirements

• A letter from the parent(s) of the child requesting Early Access
• Parent Information Form  Adapted from: Kingore Observation Inventory – to be completed by parent
• Gifted Rating Scale – P: completed by a pre-school/ early childhood teacher and submitted directly to the Gifted and Talented office for scoring. 
• 4-6 items in a Portfolio format as outlined in the 
• Kingore Portfolio Assessment Guidelines
• My Child’s Strengths
