The Johnson Program
Construction Overview
In November 2004, Jefferson County voters approved a bond election providing Jeffco Public Schools with $323.8 million for building, renovating and repairing school facilities. This was the first time voters had approved increased funding for county school buildings since 1999.
With the guidance of the Citizens' Capital Oversight Committee, the district developed a list of 440 capital improvement projects scheduled to be completed over the next six years.

The new Johnson Program building will replace the original school built in 1960. The new 21,000 square foot facility will be built on the existing site, south of the current building at 1200 Johnson Road, Golden, 80401. The older structure will be demolished upon completion of the new project. Students will continue to attend the older facility during construction. The project will be completed in time for school to open by August of 2010 and will cost just over $4 million.
