The Johnson Program/Connections Learning Center
Construction Overview

In November 2004, Jefferson County voters approved a bond election providing Jeffco Public Schools with $323.8 million for building, renovating and repairing school facilities. This was the first time voters had approved increased funding for county school buildings since 1999.

With the guidance of the Citizens' Capital Oversight Committee, the district developed a list of 440 capital improvement projects scheduled to be completed over the next six years.

The new Johnson Program building replaced the original school built in 1960. The school was renamed Connections Learning Center. The new 21,000 square foot facility was built on the existing site, south of the current building at 1200 Johnson Road, Golden, 80401. The older structure was demolished upon completion of the new project. The project was completed in time for school to open in August of 2010 and cost just over $4 million.
