Construction Overview

In November 2004, Jefferson County voters approved a bond election providing Jeffco Public Schools with $323.8 million for building, renovating and repairing school facilities. This was the first time voters had approved increased funding for county school buildings since 1999.

With the guidance of the Citizens' Capital Oversight Committee, the district developed a list of 440 capital improvement projects scheduled to be completed over the next six years.

ChatfieldDesigned to accommodate 2,100 students, the 270,575 square foot project includes an auxiliary gym, larger Commons, new classroom wing, upgrades to the science wing, music and vocational programs and administrative offices. Specific upgrades include expanding the existing parking lot, tennis courts and temporary classroom buildings. The soccer field, tennis courts and a new athletic practice field were relocated at a site north of the school.
