Sources of School Pride
- Dunstan maintained the designation of being a Performance School because of continued high performance!
- We’re excited for our new Honors Program, complimented by a wide variety of elective choices.
- Dunstan is pleased to provide students with a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including guitar club, forensics, bowling club, running club, jazz band, step aerobics, military history club, D.I. teams, Math Counts, martial arts, fencing, and much more. Students can also participate in MSSP which includes cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, and track.
So many exciting things are happening at Dunstan Middle School. Our motto is, “Get better every day”. Staff and students focus on personal development, along with academics and relationships. Our action steps towards this motto involve integrating deep thinking in the academic arena, and implementing restorative practices in order to build an authentic community. For instance, on Open House night we had forty 8th grade WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) leaders at the school, giving our incoming families tours of the building. This is community in action.
We’re excited for our new Honors Program, complimented by a wide variety of elective choices. The first 30 minutes of the day, every student has an Advise class. During Advise, students participate in Proactive Restorative Circles (community building), travel to teachers for academic support, and review their grades and test scores with their Advise teacher.
Teachers and administrators work closely with our feeder elementary schools and Green Mountain High School. We understand that being “in the middle” means we are a better school when we collaborate with our colleagues at both ends of the Green Mountain articulation area. This supports your student’s transitions. We’re committed to your student in the spirit of the whole child. We’re excited to have your student as a Dunstan Patriot.
