Sources of School Pride
- We offer 19 different AP courses along with 4 other college credit courses. Additionally we support our students with Credit Recovery in all core courses. GHS also offers a geometry acceleration summer course for students who want to get a year ahead in math.
- GHS is dedicated to experiential education offering our Senior Seminar, Junior Rafting programs every year. We also have a variety of community service organizations and activities including but not limited to Key Club, Interact, GSA, FCCLA, Human Rights Club, and STEaM & Tech Club.
- Golden High School takes great pride in using best instructional practices to help all students learn regardless of the level of academic course work of a student. We have established Professional Learning Communities for our staff to plan common assessments, look at the data from the assessment, and help students who did not understand what was taught, and help accelerate those students who did. This teamwork is seen for or co-taught special education classes, our regular core classes, and our AP/Honor classes. GHS is a Thinking Maps School, building on the experience of all of our feeder schools. Every student in the Golden Articulation Area from Kindergarten to grade 12 will use Thinking Maps to enhance their learning and understanding of the material.
Golden High School (GHS) is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains minutes from downtown Denver. We have a rich history and tradition dating back to 1873. We have worked hard to partner with our community, alumni association, local business and higher education to provide support and positive experiences for our students. GHS has received a "Performance" rating by the Colorado Department of Education, and we have been expanding AP course offerings every year, while at the same time keeping the comprehensive high school programs our community values. We offer courses in STEM, Culinary Arts, Performing and Visual Arts, and Experiential Education. We have great athletic and activities programs for all levels of student interest.
