| Additional Information |
| Green Mountain is a comprehensive neighborhood academy high school enriched with strong academic and athletic tradition and pride. At the foundation of the academy model are personalization and relevance, rigor and relationships. Learning opportunities are coordinated and sequenced with learning at school and with community partners. Each academy has a team of advisors from related businesses and industries that help to insure that the curriculum is relevant to college and careers. Students at GMHS are encouraged to enroll in rigorous and challenging classes both in the core and elective programs. GMHS has a strong College Board Advanced Placement Program throughout the core content areas as well as honors classes for students beginning in the 9th grade. The academy structure enables students to engage and study with peers who share similar interests. Students examine, discover, and pursue their passions through their selected pathway of courses. All teachers at GMHS are highly qualified to teach in their content area and the majority of teachers at GMHS have obtained their Master's degree. Our success is supported by the number of students who receive academic recognition and awards such as the Boettcher and National Merritt Scholarship, and a variety of scholarships to colleges, universities and the Academies throughout the nation. In addition to GMHS's strong academic tradition and high ratings, we nurture students' growth through a variety of athletics, clubs, and activities. Our students also benefit from active and positive parent and community involvement, business partnerships, service organizations, and alumni participation. |
