| Additional Information |
| Dutch Creek is a warm, welcoming, child-centered learning environment. Our focus was developed through a careful examination of our data and understanding the comprehensive learning experience of our students as they transition through the grades. We believe that student learning should build throughout each school year and grade level. We are thilled to be engaged in a comparative research study to pilot Scott Foresman Reading Street as our consistent reading instruction resource for K-6th grade (we are 1 of 8 schools in the United States participating in this research study). Investigations Math has also been useful for unifying our mathematics instruction K-6th grade. Now that we have developed an understanding of the importance of systemic practice, our next focus is ensuring effective relevance and rigor for each student. Technology is an area for ongoing growth as we introduce more SmartBoards and laptops to aid the learning process for all students. We embrace and understand the need for ongoing change and growth as a learning organization that serves all children. |
