  • The first two-way dual language program in Jefferson County Schools is at Foster Elementary School. Our dual language program is now K-6.
  • We teach our students to resolve conflict through the Conflict Center curriculum and teach our older students to be conflict mediators.
  • We have many before and after school activities that are funded through our 21st Century Grant.
Additional Information
In August 2004, Foster Elementary started the first two-way dual language program in Jefferson County. The goal of this 2-way immersion is for students, by 6th grade, to be bilingual and biliterate in both Spanish and English. Research strongly supports this model as the most effective in achieving our goal of students graduating from high school with choices. We continue to offer parents the choice of a traditional program or the dual language program for their students, although the dual language program always fills quickly.
