| Additional Information |
| Hutchinson, a great place to start. . .! Hutchinson Elementary School is part of the Jefferson County School District and the Green Mountain Articulation area. Hutchinson Elementary sits on a parcel of land that Mr. T. A. Hutchinson donated to the district to build an elementary school. In 1973, Hutchinson opened its doors welcoming the first generation of students to its classrooms. Over the past couple of years, we are seeing a resurgence of young families moving into the Hutchinson attendance area. Currently, our student enrollment is 436, which is a 22-student increase over the last five years. Once families enroll at Hutchinson, they stay. Most of our students begin their education journey in kindergarten at Hutchinson and they do not leave until the end of sixth grade. Over the years, Hutchinson Elementary has acquired the reputation as "The hidden jewel of Green Mountain." The community sees Hutchinson as a school that pays attention to ALL of its students. The parents know that the faculty truly believes that all students have the right to an equitable chance for academic success. All of our students, no matter how they come to us, are treated as individuals and our academic programs are designed to meet all of the learning needs of our students. |
