Additional Information
Pleasant View Elementary is a small friendly school located in the Pleasant View community; an unincorporated area south of Table Mesa and Golden. We are proud of creating a welcoming environment where the needs of all students and parents are addressed. This year, about half the teaching staff is new to the school and we are addressing areas that are in need of improvement. With an increased focus on quality instruction, we are seeing significant growth and achievement among students. We have implemented new literacy resources, a school-wide writing process, and math instruction that address state benchmarks and content standards. Teachers regularly meet to review student data and collaboratively determine focus to meet the needs of our students. At Pleasant View Elementary, we have a free full-day kindergarten, on-site preschool, on-site before and after school care, after school tutoring, and breakfast and lunch in our cafeteria. We have integrated specials (Art, Music, and Physical Education). Technology is integrated into the curriculum and instruction with a computer lab, two mobile computer labs, and SMART Boards. Our library is dedicated as one of the state's Power Libraries. Communication and collaboration with families and the community are a key component of our successes. We have monthly kindergarten parent meetings, regular classroom newsletters, weekly school newsletters, an active PTSA, an Accountability Committee, and Family Enrichment Activities through Title I.
