Red Rocks Elementary is a high performing school located in the foothills of Colorado adjacent to the Red Rocks Amphitheater. We have 325 students in grades K-6. Our student population is approximately 14 percent minority, 45 percent boys and 55 percent girls.
Red Rocks Elementary works to offer students a rigorous academic program in a safe learning environment, supported by a rich curriculum and a dedicated staff. Our staff is skilled at meeting the needs of a variety of learners ranging from advanced learners to students with special needs. Thanks to our strong parent community, we are able to have up-to-date technology and resource materials that support and enrich the curriculum. Our unique setting enhances our outdoor education initiative which includes two nature trails and an outdoor classroom.
Our students and staff have worked very hard to earn outstanding results on all district and state standardized assessments. We have consistently received high performance ratings on our school accountability and accreditation reports. For the last three years, Red Rocks Elementary School has received the John Irwin Award for demonstrating the highest levels of achievement on statewide assessments. In 2013, we received the Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award for high levels of growth. The culture and climate at Red Rocks is one of professional learning and accountability. Teachers and staff readily embrace new initiatives and support any and all efforts to improve student achievement.
