Additional Information
Sierra's commitment to excellence is renewed each day starting with a smile from the office personnel who greets you at the door to the bus drivers that safely bring your children home in the evenings. We are a community that works to provide each student a supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation, and excellence in learning. Sierra's staff joins parents and community to facilitate each student in developing skills to become independent and self-sufficient lifelong learners who will succeed in school and contribute responsibly in society. At Sierra, the practice of respectful, responsible behaviors begins with the morning announcements and is woven throughout the day: in classrooms, on the playground, and within the rigorous, purposeful, instruction provided in each class. Sierra recognizes all children need to succeed in many areas. We have Art, Music, and Physical Education classes for all students to provide a creative, physical, and intellectual development of each child. There are also band and orchestra opportunities, and a Student Council is in place for our budding leaders. Computers are within each classroom; laptop carts and a computer lab insure technology is taught as a hands-on experience for each child as well as being incorporated into daily instruction with the use of SMART Board interactive whiteboards. Students leave Sierra ready not only for the challenges of middle school, but ready to be lifelong learners and leaders.
