| Additional Information |
| Stevens Elementary is home to over 400 students in Pre-school through 4th grade. We are a Title 1 school serving a diverse population of students with a minority rate of 67%, Free and Reduced Lunch Rate of 82%, and an English Learner population of 19%. Our school also serves as a home to both a Challenge center program and a Gifted and Talented Center Program. Both of these programs add to the amazing diversity of our school. Our mission at Stevens is to continually strive to meet the needs of all students in a positive and collaborative environment. We will do this through our vision of establishing a purposeful community that delivers high quality instruction by analyzing data, monitoring and adjusting instructional strategies, and reflecting to explore new ways to meet the needs of students. Our school has been designated to participate in the Jefferson County Strategic Compensation Pilot Program. This program allows us to provide all staff members with job-embedded professional development through constant feedback on instruction and the support of a Master Teacher, two Mentor Teachers, and two Peer Evaluators. This pilot program has heightened the expectations of teachers and we are happy to say that we are ready for the challenge! |
