| "Our school is an impacted Title I school, with over 56% minorities. We decided to adopt a teaching approach that integrates movement, music, and art into the delivery system. As a result, ""The vision of Stevens Elementary is to educate all students utilizing a comprehensive and integrated approach to enrich the whole child. In order to achieve this, we are committed to the implementation of effective arts strategies supported by a kinesthetic environment, experiential learning, and technology"". We have used grant money from The Denver Foundation, the Colorado Council on the Arts, and other sources to pay for artists-in-residence who address the district curriculum through more ""creative"" approaches. Our students and families have really enjoyed this approach." |
