Sources of School Pride
  • We take great pride in our warm, welcoming staff who continuously strive to create a safe environment where all students can thrive.
  • We are a Positive Behavior Support school and we work to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn.
  • Mortensen has a supportive community of parents involved in our PTO and Partners In Education.
Additional Information
Mortensen is proud of the safe, welcoming learning environment we provide for our students and families. Our teachers are highly qualified, caring individuals who are dedicated to meeting the needs of all of our students. We provide a preschool program for children (ages 3-5) and a full-day, tuition-based kindergarten program in addition to our morning and afternoon half-day sessions. Our School Age Enrichment program offers before and after school day care in our building. Mortensen also supports many activities for students such as our Celebration of Literacy, National Spelling Bee, Geo Bee, Morning Glory Choir, Intramural Sports, Science Fair, Student Council, Talent Show, Guitar Club, the Turkey Trot, our Mini-Marathon and Instrumental Music. We are a Positive Behavior Support school and our students follow our Bulldog BE's which are BE Respectful, BE Responsible, and BE Ready To Learn. We have a caring community of parents and volunteers who help in classrooms and support our many activities. We come together to celebrate with annual traditions such as Winter Gathering and Pizza On The Lawn which are provided by our PTO and are wonderful community-building events. Our school is happy to have a center program for children with autism. We welcome an opportunity to share our accomplishments with you.
