| Ryan Elementary received a high rating on the Colorado Department of Education's School Accountability Report. Ryan made adequate yearly progress as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act. The Ryan Elementary School Welcoming Environment Survey indicated that 97 percent of the responding parents strongly believe that our school maintains a welcoming environment. Ryan Elementary hosts Passport Journey each year. This is a day designed to acknowledge and honor the multi-cultural population of our school community. We host a 5k run each spring which is a qualifier for the Bolder Boulder. Ryan Elementary is a high incidence English as a Second Language School. We house a program for students with developmental delays. Positive Behavior Supports are utilized to provide clear instruction about behavioral expectations and students are rewarded when they meet these expectations. Students participate in Second Step and Steps to Respect a violence prevention program. We are fortunate to have an extremely involved parent community. Our PTA sponsors an extensive array of after school enrichment opportunities such as chess club, choir, drama, cup stacking, scrap booking, newspaper club, creative writing, science fair, intramural athletics, Young Rembrandts and Spanish. Ryan Elementary School is one of five professional development schools in Jefferson County. Our partnership with the University of Colorado at Denver enables us to utilize teacher candidates from the university to enhance student achievement. |
