Jeffco Public Schools Safety, Security and Emergency Planning Department utilizes acknowledged best practices to protect our schools. We have a multifaceted approach
focusing on security, policies, procedures, people, and technology. Please review the School Safety Plan. We also call upon our law enforcement and mental health community to strengthen our efforts.
- The district, as well as individual schools, have security plans and
- School staff is trained regularly on safety procedures.
- Staff and students practice security procedures and evacuation drills.
- Schools work to minimize security issues by
implementing positive behavior and anti-bullying programs.
As part of the Emergency Response Plan, the district has adopted the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), a program that uses common language between students, staff and first responders when describing actions to be taken in the event of an emergency. Parents should review the Standard Response Protocol with their children.
