Safety, Security and Emergency Planning

Jeffco Public Schools Safety, Security and Emergency Planning Department utilizes acknowledged best practices to protect our schools. We have a multifaceted approach
focusing on security, policies, procedures, people, and technology. We also call upon our law enforcement and mental health community to strengthen our efforts.

• School staff is trained regularly on safety procedures.
  
• Staff and students practice security procedures and evacuation drills.
  
• Schools work to minimize security issues by
  implementing positive behavior and anti-bullying programs.
  

The Patrol Division of Safety, Security & Emergency Planning patrols the schools in the district 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.
