About Jeffco Public Schools

Jeffco Public Schools (Jeffco) is a diverse and high-performing school district located in Jefferson County, Colorado. It is the state’s second-largest school district, serving 69,000 students across 155 schools, and its 14,000 employees make it the largest employer in the county. The district’s strategic plan, Jeffco Thrives 2025, focuses on providing a world-class education that prepares all Jeffco students for bright and successful futures as local and global citizens.

Our teachers

Jeffco has approximately 5,300 teachers. All teachers meet the educator qualification requirements under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and state law. Many have advanced degrees and several have earned national and state recognition.

The school district is divided into 17 articulation areas that feed into one of Jeffco's high schools, providing assigned schools for each neighborhood served, as well as option and charter school choices. Each area is managed by a community superintendent.
