Jeffco Public Schools (Jeffco) is a diverse and high-performing school district located in Jefferson County, Colorado. It is the state’s second-largest school district, serving 69,000 students across 155 schools, and its 14,000 employees make it the largest employer in the county. Our teachers
Jeffco has approximately 5,097 teachers. All teachers meet the educator qualification requirements under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and state law. Many have advanced degrees and several have earned national and state recognition.

Achievements and accolades
Jeffco schools across the district have been recognized locally, regionally and nationally for their academic achievement in the 2023-24 school year.
For the fifth consecutive year, Jeffco Public Schools has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education award from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
Jeffco's department of school safety was honored as unsung heroes at this year's National Western Stock Show.
A dozen of Jeffco’s comprehensive high schools and seven of its charter schools graduated students at a rate of 90% or higher in the 2022-23 school year.
