Getting to Know the Wheat Ridge Area
Northwest of Denver, the Wheat Ridge area of Jeffco is celebrated for its warm and community-oriented atmosphere. With a seamless blend of suburban and urban elements, Wheat Ridge offers residents a balance between small-town charm and accessibility to urban amenities.
The area features opportunities for outdoor and recreational activities and often takes pride in supporting its local establishments contributing to the city's unique character.
Home to eight district schools, including one preschool, five elementaries, one middle school and one high school; the Wheat Ridge school community is united in its commitment to fostering academic excellence and equipping students with the skills to necessary to build successful futures.

After years of collaborative effort between Jeffco Public Schools, the Jeffco Schools Foundation and the Gill Foundation, the new STEM lab at Wheat Ridge High School officially opened in November.

Stober Elementary proudly celebrates the opening of its new wing. The facility's expansion reflects the vibrant Stober community, welcoming families and enhancing opportunities for all our students.

According to the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) and PSAT/SAT, Jeffco students' reading, math and science scores outperformed the state averages. All high school and most elementary school results demonstrate strong academic growth for Jeffco students, exceeding expected state growth for nearly all tests.
This summer, we’ve seen significant transformations at Bergen Elementary, Pomona Jr./Sr. High School, and Wheat Ridge High, among other schools. From new classrooms to advanced learning environments, these upgrades ensure that our schools are well-equipped to support learners today and in the years to come.

Wheat Ridge Community Superintendent
Each articulation area is supported by a Community Superintendent, who serves as a link between the schools, the community and the district. Community Superintendents oversee school management, monitor and evaluate school effectiveness, student achievement and implementation of curriculum.
