The eighth grade LA class at Mandalay Middle School held a Humanities Fair on May 7 and 8. Students read several books, found a common theme, and then explored that theme with a presentation. Former Mandalay students, community members, and parents were invited to listen to the presentations and evaluate the students on content, props, cartoons, interviews, and the "book ladder" that was created. "It's a great tie-in with their social studies curriculum," said Kymberly Greenwood, the Language Arts teacher. "The kids put a lot of time and effort into making this fair a successful learning experience."
