Public Hearings

• Public comment sessions are one hour for each school recommended for closure.
• Sign-up will open five days prior to the hearing and closes at 1 p.m. the day prior to the meeting.
• The order of speakers is determined by the date and time of sign-up.
• Each speaker has three minutes. Time allows for approximately 16 speakers.
• The first seven spots are prioritized for current staff and families at the school recommended for closure.
• Live interpreters are available so that people can speak and listen in their preferred language.
• We encourage those who wish to speak to bring their comments in writing.
• All written comments, regardless of whether they are shared verbally during the public comment session, are shared with each Board member.
• In October 2023, public hearings took place for each of the schools recommended for closure as part of Regional Opportunities for Thriving Schools, Phase II.
