Jeffco prepares students to thrive in their lives after graduation. The Reimagining High School initiative builds a community vision for the knowledge, skills and experiences we want high school students to have when they graduate. Strong community partnership and family engagement help the district understand what students need to achieve this vision.
Reimagining High School Process
The district’s strategic plan, Jeffco Thrives 2025, outlines the vision to prepare all Jeffco students for successful futures. To achieve this vision, Jeffco is taking the follow steps:
Step 1: In spring 2023, Jeffco talked with students, families, educators and with community partners to learn what skills and knowledge high school students need to succeed after graduation.
Step 2: High school principals gathered in July of 2023 with community input to create a set of skills they want every Jeffco graduate to have for their resume.
Step 3: Jeffco created a plan and timeline to implement the work by identifying:
- What efforts need to be continued.
- Existing efforts that need to be amplified.
- New ideas that could support the vision.
