- Tuesday, August 25: Search firm Request for Proposals (RFP) opens
- Tuesday, September 8 at 2 p.m.: Search firm RFP submissions close
- September 9–25: Internal review of proposals
- September 26: Search firm recommendation submitted to the Board of Education for consideration

Jeffco’s Board of Education has officially voted to confirm Dr. Rob Stein as Interim Superintendent, effective July 6. With this official confirmation, our district leadership team is excited to begin transition work with Dr. Stein to ensure a strong, steady start to the 2026–27 school year.
We are pleased to share that the Board has selected Dr. Rob Stein as the sole finalist to serve as the Interim Superintendent effective July 6, 2026, following Superintendent Tracy Dorland's departure this summer.
Jeffco's Board of Education is moving expeditiously to ensure a seamless leadership transition ahead of the 2026–27 school year. Following candidate interviews on June 1, the Board is expected to name one or more finalists on June 3, kicking off Colorado's state-mandated 14-day waiting period.
