Collective Bargaining Agreements

• All eligible JESPA employees will receive one step on their respective salary schedule for the 2025-26 school year, which equals approximately $1,700,000. This is an average 1.9% increase across all employee groups and is intended to convert the previous, one-time 1% to be ongoing.
• Preschool salary schedule adjustment, which equals approximately $64,000
• Additional $10 per employee, per month in employer contribution to health benefits, which equals approximately $261,000 (based on an estimated 2,175 JESPA employees likely to elect benefits)
• 0.6 FTE eligibility for benefits, which equals approximately $883,000
• One additional paid holiday for the day after Thanksgiving for school-based employees, paraprofessionals, health techs and bus drivers and bus assistants, which equals approximately $672,000

Estimated Total Cost equals approximately $3,580,000 (exact investment is still being calculated).

• All eligible JCEA employees receiving steps and lanes on the salary schedule for the 2025-26 school year, which equals approximately $6,900,000.
  • This is an average 2.5% increase across all JCEA educators (average is 2.7% when factoring in lane eligibility)
• Coach and Activity Sponsor Stipend Schedule adjustment, which equals approximately $1,100,000.
• Additional $10 per employee per month in employer contribution to health benefits, which equals approximately $495,000 (based on an estimated 4,129 JCEA employees likely to elect benefits).

Estimated Total Cost equals approximately $8,500,000 (exact investment is still being calculated)

Generally, JCAA employees receive an equivalent amount of compensation and benefits increase as JCEA employees.

After negotiations conclude and agreements are signed between the associations (JESPA and JCEA) and the district, and language is ratified by their respective membership, compensation increases are effective August 16.

• JESPA's contract is effective September 1

The district works to monitor others districts' negotiations as those wrap up. As of April 1, we do not have any comparison data for other districts. In recent years, compensation increases for Jeffco employees have been at or above staff in many other districts.

Total compensation includes both salary and employer-funded benefits. We want our contribution toward benefits to be as transparent, understandable and as fair as possible for employees. The current system of contributing a set dollar amount per employee, per month, is clear and transparent. It also aligns with how other school districts approach total compensation as a split between salary and a contribution towards employer-funded benefits.

In Jeffco Public Schools, athletic coach and activities sponsor stipends are negotiated annually through the collective bargaining process. Stipends are calculated as a percentage of base teacher pay. As base teacher pay increases, so do the stipends for our athletics and activities coaches/sponsors.
