School-Based Education Support Professionals
Secretarial
Secretarial staff are key to a successful school community. Our Secretarial staff oversees many different responsibilities in support of school administrators, staff, families and students. Secretarial roles may include the following duties: Collaborate with the building administrator to coordinate, organize, and manage the daily activities, financial transactions, and personnel of the school in addition to serving as the public relations liaison with the community and school-related individuals. Assist with the care, safety and welfare, and discipline of students.
Health Aides
Keeping our students healthy so they can be ready to learn cannot happen without the support and care of our Health Aides. Some of the duties may include the following: Maintain the management of the school health room and address the health needs of students per district policy and standards of the Department of Health Services.
Paraprofessionals
Love to pitch in to support classrooms and school communities in various roles? Our paraprofessionals serve schools in many different ways. Some roles are non-instructional and others are in support of the teacher and students. Here are some of the duties that a paraprofessional may provide: Provides classroom support and supervision of students under the direction of the supervisor. Provide enrichment and intervention time. Interact with students, staff, parents and public. Perform any of the following clerical duties: answering phone, operating office machines, maintaining student records and schedules, distributing mail and photocopying.
District-Based Education Support Professionals
Secretarial
Secretarial roles are critical to support the district’s strategic plan, mission and values within respective departments. Some duties that a district-based secretary may include: Manage and organize multifaceted functions of the office to support multiple leaders and teams in all areas of responsibility. Perform financial and technical functions. Act as a resource for district teachers and staff by answering questions. Involves multitasking to ensure that all job duties are completed while maintaining a high customer service standard so that parents, principals and employees have their needs met in an efficient, friendly manner.
Technicians
In order to ensure our district processes and procedures are in line with district, state and federal guidelines, we need great people to do the technical work to ensure our staff, students and families have what they need to ensure an extraordinary experience in Jeffco Public Schools. Some of the duties of a technician may include the following: Organize and prioritize a wide range of tasks with rapidly changing priorities to ensure that all job duties are completed while maintaining a high customer service standard so that customers have their needs met in an efficient, friendly manner. May perform financial and technical functions. Develop, support and implement procedures, communications, and documentation for processes.
