Fall Update - September 8, 2020

Great News! On August 31, 2020, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) granted significant waiver extensions that allow all students to receive breakfast and lunch meals at no cost through December 31, 2020, regardless of free and reduced-price meals eligibility.

Grab-and-Go Meals - Sept. 8 - 11
Remote and hybrid learners will continue to access meals for their remote learning days at the 8 specified locations listed at the bottom of this email.
Starting September 14we will expand to provide meals for remote learners at all sites. And, hybrid learners will be able to pick up meals for their remote learning days at their home site at the end of the in-person learning school day.
Reminders for families:
  • Create a SchoolCafé account if you don’t already have one
  • Add money to student accounts on SchoolCafe
  • View school menus on SchoolCafe
  • Meals through December 31, 2020 are available at no cost to all students
  • Students who wish to purchase a la carte items will need their student ID number, whether using funds from their SchoolCafé account or cash/check
  • Complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meals application, if applicable


Fall Update - August 19, 2020

Summer grab-and-go meal service concluded on August 14, 2020.

Grab-and-go meals will be available for the opening two-week remote learning period of August 24 - September 4, 2020. Meals for remote learners MUST be picked up at the sites below (not at a student's assigned school) from 10:30am - 12:30 p.m., Monday - Friday: 

  • Alameda Jr/Sr
  • Arvada HS
  • Bear Creek HS
  • Columbine HS
  • Creighton MS
  • Pomona HS
  • Wayne Carle MS
  • West Jefferson Elementary
Please read important information below:
  • Meals are no longer universally free. See meal prices below.
  • Families must complete a new Free and Reduced-Price Meals Application every school year.
  • Students who qualify for free and reduced-price meals will receive a breakfast and lunch at no cost.
  • Please use School Café to deposit money in student meal accounts before school starts.
  • All students receiving meals must have their student ID number at the pickup sites.
  • Enhanced safety measures will be in place at each site including face coverings and social distancing.

Elementary Breakfast $2.25
Secondary Breakfast $2.50
Elementary Lunch $3.50
Secondary Lunch $3.75

A statewide community resource connecting individuals and families to critical resources including food, shelter, rental assistance, childcare, and more.

Jeffco Action Center
The Jeffco Action Center is the largest Jeffco Community hub and offers five-day food supplies, clothing, household items, mail services, rent assistance, utility assistance, and connections to community outreach partners. Food services are available for drive-thru and walk-up service. Appointments required. 720.215.4850.

Meal Delivery
The Denver Emergency Food Network delivers free, prepared meals to homebound families and elderly individuals in need during the COVID-19 crisis. Sign up for meals on the waitlist below. We are usually able to deliver meals 3-7 days after you request them and will text/email when we’re delivering.

RTD Access-a-Ride
RTD Access-a-Ride is providing grocery delivery service during the COVID crisis to those with disabilities and are eligible for Access-a-Ride services.
