COVID Testing Program

The Jefferson County Public Health order JPH-PHO-21-002 (PHO) issued on August 17, 2021 and revised on August 28, 2021, requires Jeffco Public Schools to implement weekly COVID testing for unvaccinated students who participate in extracurricular athletics and/or activities, and all unvaccinated Jeffco Public Schools staff.

We have been organizing our testing program in partnership with CDPHE, and their testing provider Mobile Health. As part of this partnership, Mobile Health will be setting up and administering the testing for staff and students. Jeffco Public Schools is providing the locations at schools and district facilities. CDPHE is paying Mobile Health to administer the tests.

Our goal is to ensure that students not only remain in-person for learning, but can also participate in their sports and activities as it greatly impacts their school experience. We can only accomplish this with the help of our students, staff, and families. We are #BetterTogether.

ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES

Testing will be required for unvaccinated students and staff participating in both in-season and out-of-season programs that are holding organized team and activity events.

STUDENT INCENTIVE PROGRAM

Student Incentive Program

CDPHE is administering a student incentive program for participating in surveillance COVID-19 testing. All students under the age of 18 in participating schools that have parental consent on file are eligible for this free COVID-19 school screening testing incentive program regardless of their current vaccination status. Students that are 18 years old or older do not need parental consent on file, but will still need to register to be tested.

A student must be tested to receive the incentive. Students are eligible to receive a maximum of one incentive per week. A participating student will receive $25 for the first COVID-19 test that is administered to them through this program. A student can then receive $10 for every subsequent test that is administered each week (at a maximum of one incentive allowed per week).

Students will receive their incentive(s) monthly and retroactively, via a gift card mailed to their address on file with the parental consent. For example, if a student tested in September, in early October, the student will receive a gift card loaded with all total incentives earned in the moth of September.

  • Students under 18 will need parent/guardian consent, which will be provided during the registration process. (Required only one time, per person)
