CABINET LEADERSHIP
MARCIA ANKER, INTERIM DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT
After teaching for 10 years at the elementary and middle levels in Greeley, Colorado, Marcia Anker came to Jeffco as an assistant principal at Peiffer Elementary in 1988. In her Jeffco career, spanning 30+ years, Marcia has served in the roles of: assistant principal, principal, community superintendent, instructional coach coordinator, chief of schools, 6th grade transition coordinator, and community superintendent once again last school year. A highlight of her Jeffco career was opening Mount Carbon Elementary as its inaugural principal in 1996. She describes opening a school as a unique, exciting, and unforgettable experience. Marcia has a strong institutional knowledge of Jeffco’s history and culture.
Marcia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Middle School Education with an emphasis in English and Social Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. She earned a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Colorado and an administrator licensure certification from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins.
As Interim Deputy Superintendent, Marcia’s focus is instruction. She will provide leadership and support to Educational Research and Design, School Leadership, Student Success, and Strategic Planning. Marcia believes in working along-side colleagues to problem-solve, collaborate, and strategically plan. She values the quality professionals who work in this school district and looks forward to working with them again with them to continually improve student achievement, student mental health, student engagement, and ensure equity for all students.
